Information*
We always
welcome new members. All experienced,
qualified musicians of high school age or above are welcome to join.
Annual dues are only $25.00. Rehearsals are usually held on Wednesday evenings
from 7-9 PM at Stetson Middle
School on Rt. 202, south of West Chester. If you are interested in joining or have any
questions about the band please contact Joe
Gehring or talk to any band member.

Gehring Biography*
Joseph Gehring is a
graduate of West Chester University, where he studied both piano and
tuba. He is currently finishing his master's degree
in music education with Boston University. Over the past
years he has taught instrumental and general music at the Renaissance Academy and at Conestoga High
School in the Tredyffrin/Easttown School District. In
2006 he returned to Renaissance Academy to direct the entire
Band program from grades 4-12.
An active conductor
and performer, Mr. Gehring is the conductor of the West
Chester Band and the Immaculata University Wind Ensemble, as well as Assistant Conductor for the
Immaculata Symphony and the Chester County
Pops Orchestra. He is also the Director of Music Ministries
at the United Methodist
Church of the Resurrection in Exton. Other ensembles
he has conducted include the Pennsylvania Flute Choir, the ImS
Brass Ensemble, and the 2007 Southern Chester County Honors Band.

History*
On January 3, 1986, Director Emeritus
and band founder Joseph
E. Magno realized a dream when the first rehearsal of the
West Chester Band was held with 35 musicians in
attendance. With the assistance and cooperation of the
West Chester Area School District Administration and
Music Department, the band has become a finely tuned
organization of over 60 members. Members of all ages
reside in Chester County and surrounding counties.
